Mutual support Buying online As an 'oldie' -- I'm 70 -- I have been using computers since the early 80s. Despite this -- or because I have specialised in one area only -- 'new technology' throws me into a dither. My wife bought a new mobile phone. She uses it just as a phone -- not too difficult but when she left me with it and took my old one, I had to ask a young lad how to turn it on... Then I realised that it took photos -- or would if it had a memory card -- so I decided to buy an identical mobile phone to use while I worked developing the farm park here. On advice from younger family, I went to TradeMe and bought a phone with various extras. cost quite a lot less than in a shop, but still dealing within NZ. When it arrived it was all I had expected but needed Vodaphone attention to be able to send pix -- cost NZ$25. There was no 'memory card' in the packet so I asked and found that I could buy it -- but it had been advertised as an extra. So I wrote and advised it was missing. "Was it in the phone already?" I was asked by promptly return email. I advised that the phone had been looked at 'by experts' and no. The 'missing piece' was forwarded immediately. Then inter-actions by email ... How do I connect to my computer. Piece (additional to what was advertised) posted for NZ$15.. Where is the computer program to activate the downloading? Advised of web address for free download of program. All working -- with one piece of unfinished business. The memory card WAS in the phone, so the new one is now in my wife's phone -- and I have just paid NZ$9 for it including postage. All up it was less than my wife's identical phone, and that with no extras. So I recommend patient "Mark" from Get Direct Ltd - also to be found on Trade Me as "Discounted NZ" PER - Managing Editor | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
