Even the most difficult situation is within the scope of an Organic Weed Control Ltd contract.
Historic Mahurangi Hall (on the way to northern Auckland Regional Park and beach) has long been neglected. A major renovation project is well under way. Long grass needed substantial slashing. Weeds along a fenceline needed to be eliminated. A ditch 300mm (a foot) deep along the fence made close mowing impossible. Organic Weed Control Ltd's new, revolutionary and very compact machine was unloaded and began the first cut close to the fenceline and travelled along it throwing the grass clear. These cuttings, chemical free, make excellent compost and, later packed up along the ditch, will form soil ideal for planting bushes etc along the fence. The fenceline weeds were then destroyed with superheated steam through a specially designed wand, delivered by the tractor through a flexible pipeline. The line is quite safe as Technical Director, Peter Clark, showed an interested visitor. He further demonstrated (pix right) the way superheated steam is applied directly while the tractor is cutting, removing and killing weeds along a roadside or pathway -- everything happening under the control of the single operator. The whole process is easily within the capability of any interested person with a driving licence. Here (bottom right) Peter Clark showed company Managing Director, Alex Rodgers, what to do -- and then Alex completed the final cut. Thanks to Organic Weed Control Ltd's work now completed, future care can be maintained by volunteers with a domestic lawn mower. |
