It's the way democracy is supposed to work, but we don't see it often, sad to say. So when it emerged over a perilous road problem outside of the Auckland metropolis, we were surprised and very pleased - as so many people will be.

The Auckland Super city plan, like the curate's egg is good ... in parts. The best parts are those that deal with fixing the fragmented and grid-locked transportation plans of the Auckland region as well as the effective administration of large utility assets such as water and waste water.
The government has announced a complete u-turn on plans to mine New Zealand's best conservation land. There will be no mining in Schedule 4 land or any national parks now or in the future. We did it!
