Rodney Green Party Candidate, Graham Evans,
warns...
Development
brings up more issues.
This time Te Arai - Mangawai
Development and the 'fantasy plans' of days of endless profit are
one thing, the endless stretching of roads, power provision, and infrastructure
are another.
There are many
questions regarding developments and it is only when the nature of any
development is discussed directly with the community (people upon who the
immediate impact of development will impact at first) can those questions be
approached with more than just a nod and a wink towards justice.
Erosion of an environment is generally accepted as being accomplished over a
long long period of time and by some natural means, glaciers, rivers, desert
winds and the like.
Development by its nature has managed to avoid the 'erosion' label by camouflage
under the banner of 'progress'.
The Te Arai Beach protection society is holding a public meeting Monday 11
April.
Their focus is on issues related to zoning provision , in Mangawai. The contact
person for this new Group is Jane de Witt, their website is going with the
address
info@TeArai.org
Jane can be contacted on 0210569769
... and I say good voice to you Te Arai.
