The NZ and Australian Governments are trying to give control of our medicines, natural health products and medical devices to an international version of the Australian TGA.  Even though NZ's Parliamentary Health Select Committee unanimously recommended AGAINST this proposal, the two Governments signed a treaty to give away our rights to control these industries for ourselves in December 2003. But because of the opposition so far the treaty hasn't yet been able to be passed into law.  The NZ Government is trying desperately to get other political parties to support them but through continued direct opposition we can still stop it.

The website I am sending you the link for is for the New Zealand Health Trust which is a Charitable Trust that has been at the forefront of the opposition to this proposal.  It focuses on keeping our health choices controlled by each country for the good of that country with sensible regulations that encourage cost efficiency, safety and choice for consumers and innovation for the industry.
