Dear Editor,
I run a small guesthouse in Pai, Thailand
www.ingdoihouse.com.
Lately, I've received lots of credit card scam
emails which are coming in from our website. I've tried to find information
regarding these online but have been unable to find anything until today, when I
googled the name of the 'customer' who authored one of these suspicious emails,
dr. allen brad.
Below, I've included this scam inquiry, and also another, which I replied to a
couple of times to string along and see what this guy would say. I've replied
to a couple of these, and I've found that when I initially replied including a
quote as requested, I received no follow-up response. I believe this is because
our rates are rather reasonable, therefore perhaps not the best place to funnel
through a large credit card transaction.
My theory is that these scumbags steal card numbers, then run up a huge charge
through hospitality providers like myself, requesting us to forward some clean
money on to them. The transaction is probably eventually reversed but not
before the scam artists makes a large profit. It's all the harder to track
because it's going through different countries, even different time zones. Hope

our company credit cards for the full prepayment.This is in accordance with
company policy.I hope this meets your demand.
However,i will like to ask of you a favor. The agent that booked the
guests flight tickets to your place does not accept credit card payments,
and my company policy only allows for payment with credit cards for
transactions below US$10,000.Therefore we are limited to the use of our
credit cards for the payment.
So I will like you to render me a favor by helping me charge an extra
amount of $3500 from my credit cards for the travel agent abroad who booked
for the guests Flight ticket to your apartment.
If you can render the favor for me i will send you the credit card
details and authorization for you to charge the hotel fee and the travel
agent fee.I am offering you the sum of $300 as service charge for the
assistance you will render for me concerning the travel agent .
