Existential press - what does this mean??

LATEST UPDATE:  Oct 14,2009
Scammer who calls himself "Stanley Olivarez" is not the artist of that name.

See original story Oct 24, 2008
One of the most disgusting aspects of scamming is the use of aliases that are the real names of people with real businesses.  One such person is artist Stanley Olivarez.  He has written to VillagePRESS for help and we publish his letter to us, below.  While we must warn of scam names being used, it is essential that people check to see that the received email is not actually legitimate.

VillagePRESS is also being used by scammers as we receive information that mail we -- in fact we did not -- sent that was not able to be delivered as the email address of the intended recipient is incorrect.....  We wonder how many others are similarly effected.

Dear Sir/Ma'am,

My name is Stanley Olivarez and I am an artist and self employed small business owner offering art related and residential improvement services in Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA.

Since the New Year I have had business contacts drop off to a devastatingly low level of activity; even taking into account the disastrous downturn in the economy world wide.

Suspicious, I Googled my name and I found that my name is being listed as a ‘scammer’ of B&B with what sounds like a Nigerian scam, right in the midst of my legitimate listings.  Some one has taken/stolen my name and is/has perpetrated a scam.  Obviously, as would be expected, scammers use fictitious names and aliases.

I don’t want to deprive anyone of information regarding scams, but I can only suspect that this is really hurting me and I don’t know what to do.  I have contacted the US FTC and they instructed me to first contact the poster of this information and see what can be done.  The next step that I was instructed to take was to call the FBI with my issue.  I have no idea what they can do.

Google instructs me to contact the webmaster to see about removing listings.  At this point I am following Google's direction and contacting you directly.  As I said, I don’t want to deprive anyone of information regarding scams, but I just don’t know what to do about this negative impact on my personal/business integrity.

I would appreciate any suggestions from you that could resolve this for both myself and you/your clients.

Thank you,

 Stanley Olivarez
