I strongly reject plans to include the Northern Ward of
Rodney in the super city;
Reasons:
Northern (and Western) ward is a rural area without
direct city involvement, being centred on small service townships.
The life style and interests of rural people differ
substantially from urban dwellers.
I support plans to set boundaries to separate ‘city life‘
from ‘rural living‘.
Reasons:
The complexity of services supplied in the city -
water, waste disposal, public transport etc - are not, nor are likely to
be, provided for residents in the Northern Ward.
I would like the Committee to exclude the rural areas -
the current Northern (and Western) Wards from the Super City.
Reasons:
Because Northern and Western Wards comprise rural areas
with small service townships, they could be simply detached from Rodney
Orewa and Hibiscus Coast urban wards, and reattached to Kaipara.
