I hope all is well and life, although
busy, is continuing to treat you respectfully. Things here in
sunny Swindon remain good and I reckon this year is going to be an interesting
one!
Along with the ever approaching (should I say looming) prospect of being 30 (1
week away now) I decided I was in need of a new image. Having sported long hair
in a ponytail for my entire adult life, I decided to brave the scissors with a
recommended hairdresser by the name of Shelley. She put me completely at ease
and made the act of having the chop a lot more bearable. I
initially had what I can only describe as a mid length floppy cut (I wasn't
brave enough to take the plunge straight from long to short), and having
adjusted to that for a fortnight I went back to Shelley for a much shorter
choppy punky look. The ladies appear to like it.
One in particular likes it very
much!!! Having been single now for 3 months I've recently become close to a
very nice lady whom I did my medical training with, and someone I've considered
to be one of my best friends for nearly 4 years - Another reason life is good!!!
Last night I visited a supposedly haunted pub called the 'Clifton' in my
hometown of Swindon. The pub is believed to have been built on the site of an
old priory, an arrangement apparently not entirely acceptable to a former Nun
who is now thought to walk the building. She has appeared most often in an
upstairs bedroom, but regularly also ventures into the cellar and has sometimes
been known to pop into the bar!
We began the investigation around midnight, firstly going down into the cellars
where 8 members of the investigation team (including myself) and 4 members of
staff joined us in a protection and grounding ritual, followed by a séance. It
was here on this initial séance that most of the activity was witnessed.
Several members of the group
including myself picked up on a child in the area, which our Medium Jo confirmed
to be a young girl who had lived there in the early fifties. It turned out she
enjoyed spending time down in the cellars playing by herself as it was her
little safe haven place. According to our Medium, the little girl had quite a
noticeable facial disfigurement that, although caused her no pain, she could
forget about it down in the cellars as there was no windows or mirrors for her
to look in and that made her feel normal. Another spirit detected down there
was a large man in early 19th century attire.
The bar area felt quite peaceful and no one picked up on anything there, but
both myself and a fellow investigator called Mark photographed some 'Orbs'
there. An Orb is a spherical ball of light believed the be the beginning of a
ghost or spirit manifestation and can often be captured on Digital Camera or on
Infra-red night vision camcorders. I now have dozens of Orb photos from
investigations but am still semi-sceptical of what they really are. Strange
thing is though, that believe in them or not, they do actually appear much more
in houses considered to be
'Haunted'. Spooky Stuff!
We ended the investigation upstairs with a finishing séance and debrief of the
nights activities. It
appeared that many members of the group heard unexplainable noises and felt cold
spots on them, which we were able to prove using a laser no contact thermometer.
One cold spot our Medium felt on the side of her face proved quite impressive.
One side of her face was 8 degrees Celsius colder than the other!!!
I think that's about all my new for now. As always, be happy and healthy
