Rodney District Council has put out a walking and cycling strategy

I do not know whether you and our fellow Rodney Greens are aware that
Rodney District Council has put out a walking and cycling strategy and are
 calling for submissions.

Submissions close on 13th July 2007.

Walking and cycling strategy -- Rodney Cncl calling for submissions by July 13.

The strategy can be accessed through their website www.rodney.govt.nz
It is listed under "Plans and Projects". A submission form can be printed
 off the website.

This is of course a topic which we all have very much at heart, so may I
suggest that you spread the news through our mailing/contact list and
encourage our green members and supporters to send in submissions?

On a first reading I feel that the strategy deserves all the support it
can get, though the timing of the implementations and the scope of the
projects is very timid indeed. It seems like a "token" strategy at this
point, but it is a move in the right direction which hopefully can gather
momentum as the crucial need for making walking and cycling more
accessible and safer becomes more apparent.

 Kind regards.
