Create Your Own Eden - at the Auckland Home Show

Rodney District Council is joining other councils in the Auckland region to promote a variety of composting systems at this year’s Auckland Home Show from 10th to 14th September.

Visitors will be able to see a worm farm in action and enter a draw to win a home compost system and a year’s subscription to Good magazine.

Francesca Price, host of television programme “Wasted” and editor of Good magazine, will be at the Create Your Own Eden stand at the Show to demonstrate the benefits of home composting and provide tips on reducing garden and kitchen waste.

“A sustainable lifestyle combines the wisdom of the past with the technology of the future.  It’s a smarter way to live,” says Francesca.

The Auckland Home Show will also celebrate the launch of the new Create Your Own Eden website www.createyourowneden.org.nz which provides information on composting, worm farming and Bokashi, with free ‘How To’ guides on smart gardening and home composting.

To order a copy of each guide please contact Sarah Stead, Environmental Education Coordinator, Rodney District Council on 0800 426 5169, or email sarah.stead@rodney.govt.nz
