Thanks for honouring promises to Krippner Road Assn passed on to Mayor John Law

Aug 31, 2004: Krippner Road Assn's retiring Chairperson and VillagePRESS editor, thanked Mayor John Law for honouring promises made before last elections.

Sealing the road outside residents' homes removed the health effects of lime dust on a (then) baby, and an Asthma sufferer. No asthma attacks had occurred in some ten years since moving to Puhoi, the dust activated the problem again but it has disappeared since the sealing. (There is recorded doctor's evidence of this).

Lime effecting a resident's water supply had been overlooked but this problem will be revisited. 

Traffic lights on an extremely dangerous stretch beside a vertical 200m drop-off have been removed and the road both straightened and widened. This potential crash hazard – many residents ignored the unreliable lights anyway – has made the road much safer.
