Opiate addicts are a crafty bunch, it seems. At least one of them is -- a
Nevada writer who manages to find poppy pods for sale on eBay (intended for use
in "crafting," wink-wink). His tale is no light-hearted romp -- but it does say
something about the absurdity of draconian regulation, when FedEx can deliver
the goods overnight.
Also, remember that uranium from Niger? That's right -- the uranium that never
existed that Bush claimed was going to Iraq. Now an intelligence expert claims
that perhaps those forged documents were fabricated right here at home. That's
Yankee ingenuity. True ingenuity comes from the Center for Public Integrity,
which has put together another well researched report, this time on the
pervasive influence of lobbyists and their sneaky ways to get around the
regulations. Maybe lobbyists should be peddling their wares on eBay. Seems like
everybody's doing it.
