After a threatening
start for the weather, New Year's Eve turned on a lovely Saturday morning in the
sun.

The crowd
drawn the Matakana Market was a
big surprise for overseas visitors; so many people, such a crowd..
Local producers with
their wares on display all friendly, busy, with lots of smiles...
Matakana Market is open
on Saturday every from 8 in the morning to 1pm, Plenty of parking.

Left, a
further fascination for the children is the inlet where, off the jetty, they
can see lots of eels* vie with wild ducks for the food scraps tossed to
them.
